COTTONX Future Cotton Core: Cutting-Edge Patents Usher in the "All-Cotton" Atomization Era

2022-10-26

Recently, HCD has once again pushed the boundaries of atomization technology. Following the launch of the ceramic atomization core AXdual, the company has unveiled another cotton core dubbed "non-carbonizing" – the COTTONX Future Cotton Core. Previously, at the 6th E-Vapor Industry Standard Development Conference in 2022, CEO Chen Ping had already previewed this innovation, highlighting its key features including a flywheel base, all-natural high-quality cotton wick, 360° omnidirectional e-liquid absorption, and temperature-controlled dry-out prevention.

The atomizing core serves as a critical determinant of product flavor experience and user satisfaction. As a focal point of innovation among leading enterprises, ongoing R&D investments in atomizing core technology signify continuous technological breakthroughs. Each new iteration of atomizing cores heralds transformative advancements across the industry.

The existing technical defects affecting the atomization effect are reflected in uneven liquid intake and guidance by the liquid guide, as well as slow liquid guidance speed. When the heating element continues to work, the liquid guide cannot supply sufficient e-liquid to the heating element, resulting in poor atomization effect and seriously affecting the user's smoking experience. The invention of the COTTONX Future Cotton Core addresses this by setting the inner side of the liquid guide in contact with the heating element as a vertical texture liquid guide cloth. The micro-grooves/micro-ridges formed by the vertical texture can match the circuit structure of the heating element, allowing the heating element to be slightly embedded in the liquid guide cloth for a larger atomization area. The outer side in contact with the liquid guide hole adopts horizontal textures, forming capillary gaps inside the liquid guide cloth. The conduction rate of liquid along the direction of micro-grooves or micro-ridges is higher than in other directions, which can better guide the liquid from the liquid intake hole to the surrounding area, ensuring uniform liquid guidance, improving liquid guidance efficiency and atomization effect, and enhancing the user's smoking experience. It is understood that another utility patent (patent number: CN2128556YZ) also highlights the core strengths of the COTTONX Future Cotton Core. Although cotton cores offer good taste, convenient access, and lower costs, they suffer from poor structural strength, lack of support, and inability to achieve perfect close bonding between the liquid guide and the heating element, leading to issues such as low atomization efficiency, incomplete atomization, and liquid leakage. Similarly, addressing the shortcomings of existing technologies, the COTTONX Future Cotton Core serves to protect the heating circuit and electrode leads, prevent short circuits, and ensure close bonding between the heating element and the liquid guide. It employs a casing to support the liquid guide and heating element. Due to the constraint of the casing, the liquid guide is less prone to collapse or deformation, enabling good close contact between the liquid guide and the heating element and improving atomization performance. Additionally, at least one electrode lead is equipped with an insulating sheath, which prevents short circuits caused by contact between the electrode lead and other metal components such as the casing. Meanwhile, the insulating sheath enhances the strength of the electrode lead, avoiding damage from bending. (See the diagram below for details.)

Atomization Core Fixture – Flywheel Base Design

The flywheel base design is a distinctive feature of the COTTONX Future Cotton Core. The patent specifies that the outer perimeter of the fixture incorporates a positioning groove to secure electrode leads. Additionally, the top surface of the fixture features a sloping or curved surface with an inward-higher/outward-lower contour, equipped with through-mounted fixation holes through which electrode leads are threaded.

Through the synergistic design of the casing and fixture (flywheel base), the atomization core achieves enhanced stability and rigidity, effectively resisting vibration and deformation.

Additionally, the COTTONX Future Cotton Core features temperature control and dry-out prevention. The heating element automatically transmits signals to the control chip, which immediately cuts power when the temperature exceeds approximately 260°C. This ensures consumers never experience burnt tastes during use.
